Future, New and Returning Students

Future Students
Future students and parents or guardians: the Outreach Office can answer your questions before you apply. Email outreach@deanza.edu.

New and Returning Students
First-time college students, transfer students and returning students: General Counseling is here for you. Skipped a quarter (summer excluded)? Re-apply for admission first.
How We Can Help
Our academic counselors help with academic counseling and educational planning, personal counseling, and career and major exploration. General Counseling also offers these programs and services to help you stay on track, plan your future and connect to the right resources.
Transfer Center
Explore Transfer Center resources. All students are welcome to meet with a Transfer Center counselor for resources, workshops and answers to your questions about transferring to a four-year university, including guidance for CSU, UC, and private or out-of-state transfers. University representatives visit regularly and workshops are available throughout the quarter.
Academic Awareness Program
Regain good academic standing through the Academic Awareness Program. All students on academic or progress notice are encouraged to meet with an academic counselor for resources and support. If you don't have a counselor through an individual program or Learning Community, you are welcome to meet with the Academic Awareness counselor or one of the team's student success specialists.
Filing for Your Certificate or Degree
You can file for your degree or certificate at any time during the quarter in which you are graduating, but you must apply no later than the last day of the quarter in order for your degree or certificate to be conferred for that quarter.
