Educational Access (EDAC) Courses:
EDAC 240 (½ Unit) Assistive Technology Access Evaluation
- Computer and Assistive Technology (AT), access evaluation for students with physical disabilities, sensory impairments and/or learning disabilities. Students will review various assistive technologies to select tools that support their specific learning styles, preferences, and requirements. Computer Access Lab attendance requirement of a minimum of 18 hours per quarter is required.
EDAC 245 (2 Units) Assistive Technology Access (Windows)
- A basic computer orientation and introduction to Microsoft Word with an emphasis on using assistive technology in a classroom setting. Students will review various assistive technologies to select tools that support their specific learning styles, preferences, and requirements.
EDAC 290X (½ Unit) Assistive Technology Access Practice
- Students will develop basic skills on the use of relevant assistive technologies with accessing and interacting with computer technology. Student will build on technology skills to support their specific learning styles, preferences, and requirements. For students continuing to use the Computer Access Lab for a minimum of 18 hours for the quarter. Repeatable as needed to meet the Academic Accommodations Plan Title 5, section 56022.
EDAC 290Y (1 Unit) Assistive Technology Access Practice
- Students will continue developing basic skills on the use of relevant assistive technologies with accessing and interacting with computer technology. Student will build on technology skills to support their specific learning styles, preferences, and requirements. For students continuing to use the Computer Access Lab for a minimum of 36 hours for the quarter. Repeatable as needed to meet the Academic Accommodations Plan Title 5, section 56022.
