Advisor Announcements
- Hyon Chu: Teriyaki Madness tonight (Halal options are available); Pro-Palestinian Peaceful Walkout is postponed.
- Maritza: Tomorrow, May 9, 2024 a guest speaker from the Active Minds organization speaking on mental health and destigmatizing; free book giveaways. Light refreshments will be provided. Student Leadership Training on Friday, May 10, 2024 from 12:30pm - 4pm.
- Maliah: Please sign in using the sign in sheet it ensures that we are able to continue to serve meals to everyone.
- Dennis: Scholarship update submitted by this Friday from Winter 2024; sending out
by the end of the week for the current and new exec officers an update of the codes
in editable word format. Deadlines will be included. Last senate meeting is June 12th.
- June 5th is the student leadership recognition gala.
- The meeting before the gala is May 29th (Last date that code changes can be submitted for I/D. Last date for the ByLaws to be submitted will be next Wednesday.
Senate Announcements- Matthew: Apps for the VIDA and Student Leadership Awards are still open; nomination deadline has been extended to May 19th.
- Chris Blu: DASG is giving out free scantrons at the Office of College Life if needed for any midterms and finals. If any professors need them; available while supplies last.
Student Trustee Announcements- Javier: Monday night was the last meeting; Higher level classes for english as a second language will be offered; Iris first meeting will be on June 10th!
External Shared Governance Committee Reports
- Javin: Curriculum Committee - confirmed prerequisites.
- RAPP: Discussion continued in setting up the Program Planning Committee; started next round of personal hiring;
- Academic Senate: Met last Monday; Anthropology instructor, endorsed DASG Block Scheduling system; went over proposal
- Classified Senate: Chancellor answered questions regarding the Medical Facility, Flea Market in the years when construction starts they will need to look into relocating and working around the facility. Sounded like he is not getting involved with the coordination for the relocation.
Internal DASG Committee Reports
- Katelyn: Marketing: Flea Market Carnival posts.
- Izat: Finance Committee: President mentioned that the finance committee did a wonderful job on the budget presentation; working on committee projects moving forward.
- Administration: Finishing up elections; potential ByLaws changes.
- Programs: Bike Program Coordination, discussed recap of the Hachi Flea Market from last week. Voted on the vendors that will be at the flea market; Carnival updates were discussed.
