The Bachelor of Science in Automotive Technology Management is designed for students who want to continue their education in automotive technology by acquiring business and management skills to advance their careers in the automotive industry.
Building a Strong Foundation
This new degree builds on a broad foundation of courses, certificates and associate degrees offered by the highly-regarded Automotive Technology Department at De Anza College. The department is known for its innovative programs that provide high-quality education and hands-on training, with the latest equipment and tools.
All of De Anza's Auto Tech programs are designed to be "stackable," so students who earn course credits for a certificate can also apply those credits to advanced certificates, associate degrees and a bachelor's degree. Lower-division offerings include three certificates and three associate degrees available to full-time day students, plus 13 certificates and four associate degrees for part-time students, who may be working in the automotive field while taking classes in De Anza's evening program.

A Bachelor's Degree You Can Afford
California community colleges were first authorized to grant bachelor's degrees on a pilot basis in 2014, under a state law that expanded the colleges' traditional role of offering high-quality certificate and associate degree programs. Additional legislation has allowed more extensive offerings since 2021.
These programs provide advanced education at a cost that is more affordable than pursuing a four-year degree at a state or private university.
De Anza's bachelor's degree program was developed by experienced faculty members and administrators, after extensive planning and analysis of automotive industry needs and trends.
The college won approval to offer the program in 2023 by the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office, following earlier approval in 2022 by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges.
