Supporting You Every Step of the Way
Dear Student,
Congratulations on starting your first week at De Anza College! This is the beginning of an exciting journey, and we want to support you at every step of the way.
As mentioned in our email last week, you’ve been selected to be part of De Anza CONNECT, a new program for first-time students. This means you’ll be receiving occasional
text messages from Roary, our AI chatbot, to check on how you’re doing and help you connect with useful resources when you need them. You should receive your first message tomorrow – Wednesday, Sept. 24.
Our CONNECT team will also follow up with occasional phone calls and emails to provide personalized support over the coming months. To make sure you don’t miss any important updates or opportunities, please check that your email address and phone number are listed correctly in MyPortal: Click on the Student Registration card, then look under My Profile and select “Update My Personal Information (New Version).”
We also have designated CONNECT counselors to assist and advise on adding or dropping classes, updating your education plan and achieving your academic, career and personal goals. You’ll find the CONNECT counselors in the General Counseling Center (RSS Building, Second Floor) or you can schedule an appointment at deanza.edu/counseling/connect.
