You're Invited: UndocuWelcome on Thursday, Aug. 28
Dear Student,

Thank you for choosing De Anza College! We are excited to invite you to a special orientation and welcome event – UndocuWelcome 2025 – for students and their families next Thursday, Aug. 28.
This year's theme is "Rise in Power – Centering Student Empowerment, Advocacy and Solidarity," and the program includes activities that will be fun and useful for you.
Please be assured that your information is confidential and will not be shared. We are sending you this invitation because you enrolled as an AB 540 student, submitted a California Dream Act Application, or applied to join a Learning Community, and you may find this event of interest.
If you'd like to attend, please click the yellow button to complete the short sign-up form. (If you've already signed up, you don't need to sign up again – you’re all set to go!) You'll find more information about the event in the rest of this email and at deanza.edu/vida/undocuwelcome.
This orientation is designed to provide undocumented students – including AB 540 and DACA students – and their families with tips and tools for making the most of their college experience at De Anza. We'll cover academic planning, financial aid, entrepreneurship and more. Plus: You will have an opportunity to meet other new students!
The event will be held on campus at De Anza. The schedule includes
- Resource Fair, Lunch and Tour: 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
- Lunch: 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.
- Welcome and Community Building: 12:45-2:30 p.m.
- Workshops and Student Sessions: 2:30-5:30 p.m.
- Student and Family Dinner and Workshop: "How to Support Undocumented Students in College" – 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Lunch and dinner will be provided, but you must sign up to attend.
The Family Dinner and Workshop is open to parents, co-parents, caregivers, older brothers or sisters or other support persons.
