General Education Options for Transfer
California State University General Education-Breadth (CSUGE)
The California State University General Education-Breadth (CSUGE) pattern allows transfer students to fulfill lower-division GE requirements for any CSU campus prior to transfer. Completion of CSUGE does not guarantee admission and is not required for transfer admission.

NOTICE about CSUGE Requirements @ De Anza College
DAC requirements for CSUGE Certification differ from the requirements identified by the CSU and from information published on www.assist.org. In order to qualify for CSUGE certification at DAC, students must complete the CSUGE requirements as stated in the DAC Catalog.
Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC)
The Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) is a series of courses that prospective transfer students may use to satisfy the lower-division general education breadth requirements for both the CSU and the UC. IGETC may be a suitable option for students who are unsure if they will transfer to a CSU or UC campus and wish to keep their options open. Completion of IGETC is not a minimum transfer admission requirement and does not guarantee admission to a UC major or UC campus.
